The StoryStrong Method™
Strength grows in rings.
A way of gathering that turns lived experience into healing, wisdom, and connection — blending storytelling, the arts, and trauma-aware practice.
What the method blends
Four things, held together.
Storytelling as a bridge
Narrative connects survivors of lived experience with younger generations — a bridge for healing, understanding, and cultural preservation.
The arts
Creativity as a positive medium for change and expression.
Trauma-aware practice
Safety, consent, and care built into every step.
Intergenerational growth
Elders and youth learning from one another.

How a session unfolds
One circle, seven movements.
Step 01
Welcome, snack & check-in
We open with warmth, food, and a quick pre-survey — settling the room and setting intention.
Step 02
Icebreaker
A game to loosen the room, spark laughter, and build trust before we go deeper.
Step 03
Storytelling circle
The heart of it — storytellers share, and the circle listens and responds with care.
Step 04
Breakout questions
Small-group reflection on what surfaced, in each person's own words.
Step 05
Lunch + game
A shared meal and play — connection is part of the curriculum.
Step 06
Real-life scenarios
Practicing real skills through true-to-life scenarios and role-play.
Step 07
Reflection & take-home
We close the circle with reflection, a post-survey, and something to carry forward.
Why circles
A circle has no head and no foot.
In a circle, everyone is seen and everyone belongs. There is no front of the room, no expert and audience — only people, and the stories that carry their strength. It's why every StoryStrong space is built as a ring: each person a part of the whole.
